Coffee with a Cause with Gloves Not Gunz

How can you reduce youth violence while helping to build the confidence, resilience and the life chances of young people?

Supporting Gloves Not Gunz is a great place to start. Adam Ballard and Ben Eckett created Gloves Not Gunz in 2017 because they were concerned about the recent spate of murders in their area. Adam was running the local boxing gym and offering gang prevention sessions for young people and Ben was an experienced manager in social care and youth work with the local authority who was passionate about sports. Together they have created a programme that focuses on diverting and preventing young people from participating in crime by using boxing, jujitsu and yoga as a way to engage them. And once they are engaged Gloves Not Gunz also provides education, mentoring and therapy support.

We began working with Adam and Ben in our June Coffee with a Cause and we continue to work with them to help them engage more corporate partners in their life saving work. Below is a short clip from our Coffee with a Cause session with Daniel de la Cruz, a marketing volunteer, talking about what Gloves Not Gunz means to him.
