The Marketing Help Desk

This online event was an opportunity for cause leaders to ask our panel of marketing experts their pressing questions to help them to rebuild as we emerge from lockdown.

The hour-long audio recording of the event is available on soundcloud for anyone that missed the live discussion on July 16th.

Questions from the causes included:

  • Jacky, Executive Director of Advice4renters, the only charity providing specialist legal advice for private renters on low income in London, asked, 'How can we ensure that our Marketing Strategy is embedded in our new Business Plan and reflects our key aims and objectives?'

  • Richard, Founder of TheGivingMachine, which is a charity that makes it possible for online shoppers to support charities, schools and community groups for free through sales commissions, asked, 'There are a number of charities really struggling and focusing on cost cutting and with marketing often seen as a first area to cut - how can we ensure that measurements and plans are put in place to make good decisions with data vs. opinions in a time of crisis?'

  • And Eve, Charity Development Director of the Give a Duck Foundation, a charity that provides support to children diagnosed with cancer, asked, 'What are the top 3 things charities should post on social media to engage with their audience and keep posts fresh and engaging?’

The event was run by Founding Members of MarketingKind, with Steve Walker, Founder of Two Sides, chairing the discussion and our panel of marketing experts included:

  • Celia Pronto, Managing Director of Love Home Swap, previously Chief Customer Officer of the Casual Dining Group

  • Catherine Cherry, Head of Fundraising at NSPCC, previously Marketing Director for UK, Ireland and the Netherlands at Sony Mobile

  • Andrew Mulholland, Founder of Brand Guardians, previously Managing Director of The Gild

  • And Stuart Wilson, Partner at Food Strategy Associates, previously Chief Marketing Officer of Burton's Biscuits
